Cloud server pricing: how to calculate the total cost
Compare CPU, RAM, disks, public IPs, licences and backups when you estimate the cost of a cloud server hosted in Türkiye.
A cloud server price is more than the package label. Two offers with the same CPU and memory can differ in storage class, operating system licences, IP addresses and backup retention. Compare the same workload, resources and period before you choose a provider. Start with the available cloud servers in Türkiye.
Define the workload first
Measure CPU use, memory demand, data growth and busy periods. A small website and a database with sustained queries have different needs. A development environment does not always need the same resources as production. Choose an initial size, run a representative test, then adjust it from measurements.
Separate the chargeable resources
| Resource | What to verify |
|---|---|
| CPU and RAM | Resource rate and billed running time |
| Storage | Capacity, storage class and retention period |
| Network | Public IP, gateway and idle IP rates |
| Protection | Backup, snapshot and replication storage |
| Management | Charges for managed database services |
For an hourly resource, estimate quantity × hourly rate × hours used. Do not treat a monthly storage rate as an hourly rate. Compare taxes and currencies on the same basis. Current Skypium rates are maintained on the pricing page, so this guide does not duplicate prices that can change.
Stopping is different from deleting
A stopped server can still have disks, IP addresses and backups. Ask the provider which resources remain chargeable in each state. Reducing CPU running hours does not necessarily reduce the full invoice by the same percentage. Before you delete an unused resource, confirm that you can recover any data you need.
Compare three scenarios
Estimate short development sessions, a continuously running application and a workload with growing storage. Use the same CPU, memory and disk class for each offer. Include the same backup policy. An offer that omits protection is not directly comparable to one that includes its cost. Test application latency and storage access as well: a lower price is useful only if the service meets your requirements.
Build a Skypium estimate
Open the cost calculator, then select the server count, CPU, memory and disk capacity. Add public IP and protection services when needed. Treat the result as an estimate: actual billing depends on resources and usage time. Check the trial scope before testing with production data. If database operations are part of your comparison, read the guide to managed PostgreSQL versus a virtual server.
