Do I need to install an agent to migrate from VMware?
No — VMs in your VMware environment are migrated agentlessly, read directly from the live environment.
How do I migrate a physical server?
A Windows desktop tool you run on the physical server walks your disk over to Skypium step by step.
What happens if the connection drops mid-transfer?
The chunk-resume mechanism picks the transfer back up from where it stopped — you don't have to start over.
Does my source server go down during migration?
Data is transferred while your source server runs. During final cutover, the source is briefly stopped, the last changes are transferred and the target is started. Plan this downtime window in advance.
Which source environments are supported?
You can live-migrate from VMware vCenter, physical servers, and other virtual environments — three source types in total. You can also restore VMware backups taken with Narbulut Virtual Machine Backup directly from "External Backups" in Skypium — that path doesn't need the source to be running, so it works for disaster recovery too.
How does my server run after migration?
Your migrated disk boots as a boot-from-volume server on Skypium, managed just like any other Skypium server.
